Archery Rules Covering All Ranges
  • General Club Range Rules Apply.
  • No arrow is to be nocked while anyone is down range.
  • No arrow is to be nocked while bow is pointed in any direction except down range and on the shooting line.
  • No horseplay or fooling around at the shooting line
  • Be courteous to fellow archers, and do not distract them while shooting.
  • No drinking of alcohol before or while shooting.
  • No bow is to be drawn while pointed above the target butt. An accidental firing would result in a an arrow in the sky or ceiling.
  • No one is to go down range to retrieve arrows until the line is clear.
  • Do not leave trash anywhere on any range. Place in trash can, or take it with you. We do not have janitors. Clean up after yourself.
  • NO PROFANITY.
  • Any disagreements should be directed to the range offices if present, or to the archery committee for direction.
  • The range officer (person running the league or shoot) has the final say on all decisions. Anyone not following the range officer's direction will be subject to discipline up to expulsion from the club. If an archer thinks the range officer's decision is faulty, it should be appealed to the archery committee.
  • Broadheads are only to be shot in the sandpits and not into any target butt.
  • Use common sense. Avoid situations for which nobody could or needs to write specific rules.
Archery Indoor Range Rules
  • Turn on only lights needed.
  • Remember to turn OFF the lights when you leave.
  • Always sign in and out on the sign in sheet. This means everyone!!
  • Properly dispose of any trash that you may have.
  • Place range fee in envelope, and deposit in tube according to the listed rates.
  • If there are people wanting to shoot from various distances, the following schedule will previal:
    • From top of the hour to the half-hour, everyone shoots at 20 yards.
    • From the half-hour to the hour, eveyone shoots at a mutually argeed upon distance that may vary.
Broadhead Silhouette Range Rules
  • Proper equipment and equipment maintenance is the responsibility of the individual.
  • When in use for either a shoot or practice, access to the range is limited to participating archers.
  • Young archers (under the age of 12) must be under the immediate supervision of an adult (18 years or older). Children not involved in shooting activities must be kept clear of the range, road, and fringe area surrounding the silhouette range.
  • Silhouettes are to be shot only from the designated posts. Shoot the silhouette target in numerical sequence and shoot only at the target.
  • Archers leaving the silhouette range must use the designated exit path. No Walking back along trails belonging to lower number silhouettes or cutting cross country.
  • When retrieving arrows or searching for lost arrows, have one of your party stand in front of the target or lean your bow against the silhouette to show the shooters following behind you that the target is not clear.
  • Notify the shilhouette range officer of any potential safety hazards or violations of safety rules listed above.
Archery Field/Hunter Range Rules
  • Shoot only at the target, never shoot in the air or in any direction where you might destroy property or endanger life.
  • Always place your bow in front of the target (to caution the following shooters) when looking for a lost arrow.
  • Never allow anyone to retrieve arrows until all arrows have been shot.
  • Shoot at targets only from designated shooting positions.
  • Shoot arrows with only target or field points into target bails. No broadheads.
  • Make sure the target is properly placed for the next shooters after shooting.
  • If you are holding up other shooters by shooting more slowly, let them pass through.
  • Archers leaving the target must use designated exit paths. No walking back along trails on previous targets. No cutting cross-country.
